Hey errbody! It's finally warming up here and I'm so happy bc this
past winter was rough.
But this past week was pretty good! Other than the fact that almost
all of our investigators started ignoring us. Except for Olga. She's
amazing. We were able to start family history with her bc she's
already had all the lessons, but she wanted to keep meeting with us on
our normal 2 days a week. And we found a ton of people! Which is so
cool. So when she's baptized and we get her records we can see if we
can do the temple work for them. we also had her baptismal
interview this week and she passed it! Woooooo! We're so pumped. It's
been so cool to see how much she's grown and learned since meeting her
for the first time. She truly was prepared for this gospel and were
hoping she can be an example for the rest of her family.
We also had another lesson with our girl Stephanie. I feel like I've
learned so much about the atonement while teaching her. She's had some
difficult things in her life and she's still going through a lot right
now. I feel like none of what she is going through would ever relate
to a normal person. But since Jesus Christ suffered for every single
one of us, pains, sins, sicknesses, sadness, he knows the best way to
help us and the best way to comfort us. HE knows how each of us feels.
And if we ever feel like we're alone, we can always turn to him.
Also since all of our investigators started ignoring us this week, we
did quite a bit of contacting. We were able to find a new family and a
few other new people that were super excited to teach. One thing we've
really been practicing this week is teaching on the spot. We usually
just make appointments with people when we meet them, but now we've
actually gotten into teaching them to what they seem like they need
when they meet them and it's been so good. We had this cool experience
where we were walking to someone's house on Friday, and we passed by
this car with the door open and there was this girl, probs like 25ish,
sitting there and she looked kinda sad. So we kept walking and we both
felt like we needed to go back and talk to her. So we went and talked
to her and she was pretty cool, she actually didn't live in this area,
but we talked to her about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how Christ
is really the only person in this world that truly knows how we feel.
And she said now that you say that, I never really thought about it
that way. But that's true! And her face just lit up and she looked so
much happier. It's really the best seeing how happy the gospel makes
people. We gave her a Book of Mormon and gave her our number if she
ever needed anything.
I love being a missionary and I love this gospel! I hope y'all have a
great week. Jesucristo se ama mucho!
